Forza Horizon 6 Mitsubishi Montero Evolution Unlock Guide

od hArperGRAy460 » Čet Maj 28, 2026 3:30 am

If you love hitting the dirt, the sand, or just about any terrain that isn't smooth asphalt, there is one vehicle you need to track down as soon as possible in Forza Horizon 6: the legendary 1997 Mitsubishi Montero Evolution. This Dakar Rally icon is absolute royalty in the off-road world, and luckily for us, playground games tucked it away as a classic Barn Find.

Finding it isn't too brutal, but you can't just drive over and grab it from the jump. You have to trigger the rumor first. Here is exactly how to get this off-road beast into your garage.

Step 1: Earn Your Orange Stamp
Before you start hunting around the woods, you need to put in a little work in the main campaign. The rumor won't trigger, and the purple search area won't show up on your world map, until you progress far enough.

Your goal is to keep playing through the Discover Japan campaign activities until you officially unlock the Orange Stamp. Once that notification pops up on your screen, the local radio host will drop the hint about an old garage hidden away in the hills, and you're officially cleared to go hunting.

Step 2: Head to the Shimanoyama Hills
Once the rumor is active, grab your favorite all-wheel-drive vehicle and open up your map. You want to aim for the eastern side of the Shimanoyama region.

Step 3: Track Down the Barn
Finding the exact spot can be tricky because the trail leading to it doesn't actually show up on your GPS navigation. Here is the easiest way to pinpoint it:

Find the hairpins: Look for the main asphalt road that snakes up the mountain in a tight series of switchbacks and hairpin turns.

Watch the top of the climb: Power your way up these hairpins. As you reach the peak of the climb and the road finally starts to straighten out, slow down and keep your eyes peeled on the right side of the road.

Spot the unmapped trail: Look for a small, hidden dirt path branching off toward the east. It's easy to miss if you're flying by at top speed.

Follow it down: Take that dirt track as it winds down into the dense forest. Just follow it to the very end, and you'll roll right up to the weathered wooden barn housing the Montero Evolution.

Step 4: Time to Restore
Once the cutscene plays, the dusty Pajero Evo is officially yours, but it's not quite ready for prime time yet. You have two choices to get it running:

The Patient Route (Free): Let the Horizon mechanics do their thing. They will slowly restore the car in the background while you go about your business playing other events. It won't cost you a single credit, and you'll get a notification when it's shiny and ready in your garage.

The Impatient Route (Instant): If you absolutely cannot wait to build a cross-country tune for it, you can head into the Barn Finds menu under your garage tab and pay a Credit (CR) fee to fast-track the restoration instantly.
